The family of a man who died after suffering a traumatic head injury have paid tributes to a "loving and gentle dad."
James Robinson, also known as ‘Jimbo’, was assaulted in Malyons Mews area of Pitsea on Wednesday 15 September.
The 67-year-old suffered a head injury and died in hospital the following day.
A post-mortem examination found he died as a result of a traumatic head injury.

His daughter said: “He was such a kind-hearted loving gentle dad, grandad, brother and friend to many.
“He will be truly missed and always in our hearts.
“Gone too soon but never forgotten.”
Edward Roberts, 47, of St Mary’s Crescent, Pitsea, has been charged with Mr Robinson’s murder.
He appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court yesterday and will appear at Basildon Crown Court today.
