An investigation is underway at one of the world's leading courier firms after hundreds of parcels went missing in Essex.
Hermes has confirmed it has 'removed' one of its drivers as part of the ongoing investigation.
It comes after the BBC was contacted by a number of residents in Essex complaining their deliveries had not arrived or had gone missing.
Hermes has apologised to customers affected and says it will be contacting some of those whose parcels have not arrived.
A spokesman said: "We can confirm that our Loss Prevention Team is currently investigating an issue in the Essex area regarding the non delivery of around 200 parcels.
"We are reaching out to help those affected and would ask that customers contact their retailer or seller in the first instance where possible.
"We would like to reassure the local community that the courier involved has been removed and normal service will be unaffected moving forward.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
