A WOMAN left covered in blood and bruises is “scared to leave the house” after being attacked by three masked thugs who tried to steal her husband’s Rolex.

Laura and Darren Seaman, from Southend, were attacked in Mayfair in central London in the early hours of Sunday morning after a meal out with friends.

The mum-of-two, 45, suffered cuts and bruising to her face and neck as she was knocked unconscious.

The couple say the gang attempted to steal Darren’s expensive Rolex.

Laura, who stepped in to try and defend her husband, needed 14 stitches after the attack.

She said: “Everything hurts and I woke up in the taxi after I was knocked out. I am bruised in the face and neck and have to eat and drink through a straw.

“I look horrific and it’s ruined my life and I don’t want to leave the house at all.

“I don’t want to let them ruin my life and stop me living but they have.

“I work in a school and the kids will be petrified if they see me.

“I feel like they’ve taken away everything I know.”

Roofer Darren, 53, was horrified by the attack on his wife as she attempted to defend her husband from the gang.

He said: “There was blood everywhere from her eye and mouth and you could see her teeth due to the injuries.

“She was knocked unconscious and we carried her into a taxi and to bring her round.

“It was quite daunting and horrific.

“It’s crazy to think about what’s happened and we still can’t quite believe it.”

Darren said the men were dressed in black with masks and hoods up during the attack and he fears they were watching the couple.

He also issued a warning to people visiting London, fearing the “capital is becoming more dangerous”.

He added: “It makes you think you cannot walk the streets any more and must go from door to door.”

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “Police were called at around 2am on Sunday, to a report of an attempted robbery on Bruton Street, W1.

“Officers attended and spoke to the victims, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s. They reported that three men wearing balaclavas had approached them and attempted to grab a watch from the man’s wrist.

“When the woman asked them to stop, she was punched in the face. The watch was not taken and the men made off in a nearby car. Both victims suffered injuries and were taken to hospital.

They have since been discharged but will continue to need treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing; no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 with reference 840/10OCT21.”
