THE family of a teenage girl who was hit by a car last night have been tracked down by police, following an urgent appeal from officers.
The teenager, who was hit by a car on Staneway in Laindon, was carrying a skateboard at the time.
She was rushed to hospital.
The road remained closed for several hours, but has re-opened this morning.
Essex Police launched an urgent appeal, after the crash at 6.45pm, to track down her family.

A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "We have now located the family of a teenage girl involved in a collision in Staneway, in Laindon.
"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal
"Staneway has also now re-opened."
