A WOMAN has been fined hundreds after speeding in a busy road.
Gemma Toohey, 36, of Pattiswick Square, Basildon, was charged with speeding, exceeding 30 mph on a restricted road.
Basildon Magistrates Court heard on October 20 how on February 17 she drove the car in Stanford Road, Stanford-le-Hope.
She drove at a speed exceeding the legal limit of 30 miles per hour and the speed recorded was 45 miles per hour.
The court heard the speed limit was signified by street lighting placed at less than 200 yard intervals.
She was fined £220, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £44 and ordered to pay costs of £90.
She was also given four driving points on her licence.
