A HOMELESS man was attacked by “two teenagers” outside a supermarket, before a mum and baby were spat on in a vicious attack.
The pair of yobs launched a ferocious attack on the man, who was sitting outside the Tesco store in Pitsea, punching and kicking him.
Witnesses claim the man was sleeping rough at the entrance to the store, off High Road, before a bottle of Lucozade was thrown over him and passers by.
It is claimed the two teenagers then turned on a mum, who had intervened, spitting on her and her baby which was in a pram.

According to social media posts, another man stepped in, who exchanged punches with one of the teenagers, before a security guard was able to break up the scuffle.
Craig Rimmer, Pitsea councillor in charge of leisure and the environment committee, said: “This is really quite unusual for that part of Pitsea and Tesco itself.
“It’s positive that a security guard was able to step in.
“It sounds pretty horrible and is really violent behaviour.
“You get kids who throw eggs or commit other anti-social behaviour, but then aren’t stopped, and things like this happen.
“Parents need to keep an eye on what their kids are doing.”
Basildon Council has touted expanding it’s park warden scheme to estates and supermarkets, to prevent anti-social behaviour.
This could be implemented by March, the Echo understands.
The teenagers were described as wearing tracksuits, one black one grey, and are believed to be around 16-years-old.
A spokesman from Essex Police, said: “We received a call at around 3.40pm on October 25, reporting a man had been assaulted by two teenage boys in Hazelmere, Basildon.
“It was reported a woman intervened and one of the boys spat at her and on her pram before being confronted by a member of security and a nearby supermarket.
“The boys left the area in the direction of Pitsea Market.
