A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a gun was fired during a disturbance in Westcliff.
Essex Police confirmed that a gun was fired in the incident on October 26, which saw a police cordon in place in an alleyway between Bridgewater Drive and Mendip Crescent.
A 22-year-old man, from Leigh, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has been released on bail..
The Echo understands the disturbance was a targeted incident, and there is no wider threat to the public.
No injuries were reported.

The force refused to disclose if a weapon has been found, with the investigation ongoing.
The gun was fired in a "public place," the Echo has been told.
A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "A man has been arrested following reports of a disturbance in Westcliff shortly after 3.30pm on Tuesday 26 October.
"The 22-year-old man, from Leigh, was questioned on "Our investigation into the incident is continuing and our early findings suggest a firearm was discharged during the incident."
