A MURDER investigation has been launched after a woman has died in Vange this morning.
A woman in her 60s died after police were called to "concerns for her welfare" in Dewsgreen at around 6.40am.
A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A spokesman from Essex Police, said: "Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the death of a woman in Vange in the early hours of this morning.
"We were called to concerns for the welfare of a woman in Dewsgreen, shortly after 6.40am.
"We arrived and sadly found a woman, aged in her 60s, had died.
"An investigation into her death has been launched and a 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
"He is currently in custody."

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Truss, who is leading the investigation, said: “This sad news will naturally cause concern within the Vange community but although our investigations are in a very early phase, the information we have suggests there is no wider threat to the public.
“There will continue to be a large police presence in the area throughout today and the road will remain closed as my team carry out their investigations to ascertain the circumstances around the woman’s death."
The force spokesman added: "Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the Dewsgreen or Vange Hill Drive area overnight should call 101 and cite incident 121 of November 4.
