A HOAX leaflet has been pushed through dozens of doors in Southend, saying those who have had their Covid jab to be “isolated from society”.
The bright yellow, double-sided leaflet, which claims to be from the Government, falsely says all vaccinated people “must quarantine over winter” or risk serious illness.
It also goes onto say that those who are unvaccinated are not dangerous, instead claiming that the vaccinated are dangerous to the wider population.
The leaflet has alarmed people across Southend, with the leaflet deemed “dangerously false” by public health chiefs.

Trevor Bell, 76, of Holland Road in Westcliff, said: “This needs to be declared as false and a hoax, otherwise it could be really dangerous. There are people who are already nervous about getting the jab, and this will make it even worse.
“Some people will believe this where it looks so real. I tried to chase after whoever delivered it but they had already disappeared. They need to be confronted and stopped.”
Krishna Ramkhelawon, director of public health in Southend, urged people to ignore the leaflet, adding: “It is vital that everyone in our community makes sure they pay attention to information from trusted sources.
“Look at where the information you’re reading is coming from. If it’s not from the NHS, central Government, your local authority or your GP then it’s likely to be inaccurate at best, but potentially dangerously false.”
He stressed: “Vaccines are safe. These vaccines have been tested to the same level as any other previous vaccines.
“Those currently in hospital are overwhelmingly those who haven’t been vaccinated.
“The vaccine may not stop you getting Covid-19, but it will dramatically reduce the severity of the illness and has already proven to reduce the risk of dying from the virus. It is the best protection you can give yourself and your loved ones.”
“If you’re concerned about the vaccine in any way please speak to your GP.”
