HAVE you heard of Not On Your Telly?
It is an hour long show, shot and produced in front of a live audience at Chinnery's on Southend seafront.
It's hosted by Southend funnymen Ross McGrane and John Oakes with Kasabian the barman and is a production by local filmmaker Simon Frith, along with the help of many other well known Southend faces and production talent, plus some students from South Essex College.
The second show went live last week and can be seen on the NOYT Facebook page and YouTube.
It’s free to watch online, is not funded, and the cast, crew and guests offer their time and talent for "the betterment of the community" says director Simon. "We like to think of it as Southend’s own TV show".
The next show is planned for Monday November 29, but you can find out more news, including opportunities to join the studio audience, on the NOYT Facebook page.
Simon, who runs Deadline Communications, added: "We’ve got all the ingredients - great hosts, comedy, live music - and each show focuses on aspects of the local community, showcasing places or activities that the audience can get out and experience for themselves and celebrating local unsung heroes.
"It’s fantastic that we’re able to host the show at Chinnerys. It’s a great venue on Southend’s seafront and it’s an opportunity for us to work together and demonstrate that it’s safe for audiences to return to see music and events live.
"We’re also really pleased to be collaborating with South Essex College on the project. It links so well with the community spirit that we’re looking to grow.”
