RESIDENTS are being urged to make their views known on plans for a 47-home estate.

Legal and General is behind the proposals for land off Hart Road, Thundersley.

A public consultation has been launched into the proposals with residents urged to have their say before November 22 at 11.59pm.

Bosses at the financial services company say they want to tackle the shortage of houses in the area.

The firm says it’s aiming to help out new home owners with more affordable properties.

A spokesman said: “We are working with councils, housing associations, and developers across the country to deliver over 3,000 affordable new homes a year.

“For us, it is more than just houses, it is about providing sustainable new communities and making a real difference to the quality of affordable homes available in the UK.

“To deliver on this mission, the firm has taken an interest in the Land at Hart Road, which has been allocated in Castle Point Council’s draft Local Plan.

“Our proposals will bring forward a parcel within the wider allocation and will help address the shortage of homes, particularly affordable homes, in the borough.”

The firm bosses say they are committed to consulting with the local community on their proposals and are keen to hear the views of the community before submitting an application to Castle Point Council.

The online virtual exhibition, allows residents to find out more information about the proposals for the land at Hart Road, including street scenes, access to the site, landscaping, drainage and the new homes that are to be provided.
