This pub in Leigh comes top of the leaderboard for Essex fish and chip restaurants.
It has been praised for its "excellent" service and big portions of the main dish.
The Bellhouse

Another establishment in Leigh achieves second place, and features a great space to eat your food indoors and outdoors.
Aside from the fish and chips it has received a lot of praise for its Sunday roast.

Moving over to Westcliff now there is Oldham's Fish Restaurant.
It has been commended for its fresh fish and "lovely" chips and reasonable prices.
Oliver's On The Beach

As it says in the name, this little cafe is right by the beach and is described as an "excellent" place for either breakfast or lunch.
It has also bee praised for its "generous portions" of its signature dish.

Finally we end the top five list off at Hamlet Court, just a short walk from the Cliffs Pavilion.
It's a pub that has received a fair amount of praise for all its food, not just its fish and chips offering.
