AN evening of reflection will be held on the eve of Sir David Amess’s funeral to allow residents to remember their MP.
Sir David will be laid to rest on Tuesday, November 23 after a funeral service at Westminster Cathedral.
A procession is due to take place through Southend the day before and Leigh Town Council has revealed further details of plans to remember the former Southend West MP.
The town’s community centre will host an evening of reflection in which residents are invited to share their stories and memories of Sir David.
It will take place between 5.45pm and 8pm on Monday, November 22.
Anyone wishing to attend must contact the town council to reserve a seat at the centre, or if you wish to share a story about Sir David.
The Conservative politician died from stab wounds following an incident at the Belfairs Methodist Church back on October 15.

Ali Harbi Ali has been charged with murder and preparing acts of terrorism in connection with the incident.
He is next due to appear at the Old Bailey on December 21 where he is expected to enter pleas to the charges.
