Two former care home workers have been found not guilty of ill treatment of a dementia suffering grandmother.
Blessing Okeke-Nwojeh, 44, of Clayburn Circle, Basildon, and Hemlata Ramdin, 40, of Braybrooke, Basildon were acquitted at Basildon Crown Court this morning.
The two carers at the former Ghyllgrove Care Home in Basildon were accused of mistreating the woman in January 2019.
On Monday, during the summing up Recorder Alex Hill Smith reminded the jury how operations manager Clare Silvester blasted the treatment of the woman.
She told the jury it was “utter neglect” that she was “physically manhandled” and it was “overbearing.”
Recorder Alex Hill-Smith also told the jury Mrs Silvester said the way she was put on the bed was “very rough” and the “care lacked dignitary and respect for her as a human being.”

Last week, Hemlata Ramdin told the jury the care home was understaffed with three workers for 30 patients.
She said: “She hit staff and was aggressive so some workers refused to go near her.
“Her dress was soaking and her pad was full of soil, her hair was not done.
“I gave her personal care and staff were told to leave her alone and give her space if she gets distressed.
“On that day she was distressed for many reasons, could have been as she didn’t want the carer to touch her.
