The A127 has now fully reopened following a crash.
The eastbound carriageway was partially blocked just before 10am this morning after a vehicle had overturned.
Emergency services were called to the scene and arrived to find both a Land Rover and trailer on their sides.
The crash happened at the Rayleigh Weir junction and saw the eastbound carriageway road closed for a short period to allow for recovery.
It was partially reopened around 11am and fully reopened just after 1pm.
No arrests were made and police believe the trailer had caused the car to overturn.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called at 09.48am today to reports of an overturned vehicle on A127, Rayleigh Weir.
"No-one was injured.
"The road was closed whilst the vehicle was recovered."
The incident caused long tailbacks on the A127, with queues forming several miles back to the Fairglen Interchange.
