KFC is always a solid choice if you fancy a some tasty fast-food.

From a Bargain Bucket to good old Popcorn chicken, there’s very little on the menu that doesn’t make you hungry just looking at it.

But despite its popularity, not everyone has been satisfied when visiting a KFC restaurant.

Southend’s KFC – at the Greyhound Retail Park – is one of those sites that has been given mixed reviews on TripAdvisor.

And that’s putting it kindly.

It has an overall rating of 1.5 stars and 39 of its 48 reviews have been placed in the bottom rating – terrible.

So here is a selection of reviews left and why these customers weren’t entirely satisfied:

‘The saddest KFC ever’

One reviewer wrote: “Decided to pick up a Sunday afternoon treat and this has to be by far the saddest and most disappointing fast food I have ever purchased.

“Dry chicken, raw chips and soggy corn. The chicken pieces had hardly any meat on them.

“Unfortunately I used the drive through and did not open the food until I got home otherwise I would have taken the food back for a refund.

“No more KFC for us!!”

‘Don’t visit this KFC’

Another said: “This KFC is by far the worst one I've come to!

“Food barely edible and burnt all the time.

“I'm always disappointed when I come here.

“Would rather eat nothing then food from this store.

“If I could give it 0 I would.”

‘Consistently dreadful’

This reviewer said: “Ordered via Just Eat, the food was an hour late and all cold.

“There were about ten chips in each portion.

“I've never had a good experience with this restaurant, last time I tried the drive through I waited forty minutes and was then told that they hadn't cooked enough chicken so I'd have to wait longer.”

‘Appalling’

Another reviewer added: “If i could give them -10 I would.

“Went there last before the lockdown, fillet burger was so full of grissle I threw it away.

“But went today and thought give it another go.

“I get 40 minutes for lunch just spent 55 minutes stuck in the drive through so just had to come back to work without eating.

“Absolute joke, avoid like the plague.”

Not everyone has had a bad experience at the restaurant however.

Two reviewers gave it five-stars and described their experience as ‘excellent’.

One said it was the best KFC they have found.

The other reviewer added: “I don't know what people moan about with this place.

“It's clear staff are really busy trying to keep on top of things.

“But it's always clean and food has always been good.

“It's KFC not a luxury joint.”
