STAFF and pupils at Hockley Primary School are celebrating after an “Outstanding” report by Ofsted.
They maintained an “Outstanding” inspection rating following their last report.
The inspectors were full of praise and noted that the pupils were happy with the school full of smiles, laughter, and energy.
They add that behaviour was exemplary and that classes were full of enthusiasm of pupils who want to succeed.
David Jenkins, head of academy at Hockey Primary School said he felt very proud: “We are so proud of this Ofsted report.
“To receive an Outstanding is a testament to the hard work to our staff to ensure that we are providing the best possible education for our pupils.
“Our staff and pupils have been absolutely fantastic, everyday they come in ready to give their all which makes Hockey Primary School such a great place to be.”
Ofsted thought the curriculum is ambitious and of a high quality while also challenging for the pupils too.
However, they noted where support is required, it is given and monitored closely while being tailored to individual pupils’ needs.
This included giving pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities the same ambitious curriculum as their peers, with adaptations that can be made if required.
Hockley Primary School is part of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) and
Melissa Heatherson, the regional director for primary at AET was keen to continue the work they have put in.
“It is wonderful to see Hockley be recognised in this way and for Ofsted to see what a highly exceptional place it is.
We are so proud to share the news of this wonderful accolade and as always continue to work exceptionally hard to ensure that Hockley Primary School enables exceptional care and education for all of our children.”
The chief executive at the Academies Enterprise Trust, Rebecca Boomer-Clark, expressed that Hockley Primary School are delivering the AET’s ambition.
“At AET we want every child who comes through our schools to have an excellent education in every classroom, every day, and it is clear that Hockley Primary School is delivering this ambition for their pupils.”
