TWO sisters - who you may recognise as both local and national well known 'faces' - are thrilled to be bringing back their Christmassy evening of story telling, carols, wine and mince pies to Leigh.
Actor Christine Absalom and producer, creative and PR Jules Easlea, who together formed Jubilant Productions, will be presenting their much loved seasonal event, titled Festive Selection Box : An Evening of Christmas Poetry and Prose, at Create 98 in Leigh's Broadway.
It takes place on December 12 from 6pm until 8pm.
Christine began her acting career at the Palace Theatre in Westcliff and has performed all over the country, including at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester, The National Theatre and on BBC Radio 4, while producer Jules is a well known local face involved in the production or promotion of many events such as Middle Age Spread, Village Green and Thurrock 100 Walking Festival.
Together they promise to host an evening of "funny, moving and poignant pieces that reflect both the secular and the spiritual sides of Christmas".
Joining Christine will be Tom Mangan, a young actor from Thurrock and part of the Complete Commedia Company, and musician Martin Cutmore, often seen playing at Fast Forward events at the venue.
Jules said: "We are really looking forward to our evening at Create98. It will be intimate and atmospheric. It is always a joy to work with my sister, especially at Christmas. She has found a really lovely selection to perform and we are delighted that Tom and Martin are joining the Jubilant Productions family for this evening.
"We were not able to hold the event in 2020 so we are even more happy to be back this year.
"Create98 is a great little venue. The wine and mince pies will be plentiful and the event should get Christmas off to a splendid start. The venue is small, won’t be overcrowded and offers a relaxed space to enjoy a break from any seasonal stress."
