A POPULAR nightclub in Rayleigh has confirmed it will not be open on New Year's Eve after staff tested positive for Covid.
The Pink Toothbrush told its customers it felt it would be 'unfair' on staff who were still working to cope if it opened.
They will instead return for the weekend of January 7 and 8.
The venue said anyone who had booked tickets in advance would be given a refund.
In a post on Facebook the team said: "It is with great sadness that we announce we will not be opening this New Years Eve.
"Over the last 24 hours many of our staff have contacted us informing us they have Covid.

"We feel it would be unfair on our working staff to try and cope with the shortage of our valued team on such a busy night and also feel it unfair that we open the doors and not be able to offer you the service you should expect from The Pink Toothbrush New Years Eve Party.
"We will be back with a full team and look forward to seeing you all on the weekend of 7th & 8th of January 2022.
"All advance tickets purchased via Seetickets will be refunded. Much Love The Brush x"
