Southend Pier & Railway
Starting off this list is the Southend Pier & Railway, which extends 1.34 miles into the Thames Estuary and is the longest pleasure pier in the world as a result.
You can catch a train down the pier and have an opportunity for a long walk on it.

One reviewer wrote: "Nice train ride down pier. Not too expensive. I walked the 1.3 miles back. New train coming which will be good. It’s worth doing on your visit."
Priory Walk
Priory Walk is a park close by to Southend United's Roots Hall stadium and has been praised as a great place to go for a walk.
If has a duck pond, bedding plants and a walled garden amongst its features.

One reviewer wrote: "Great park for a day out with the family would recommend going, the cafe is a bit expensive but nice food."
Palace Theatre
If you fancy going to watch a play or some stand-up then the Palace Theatre might be a solid option.

One reviewer wrote: "Went here to see The Lighthouse Family perform their last night of their British tour. What a great night.Upstairs all seats had a good view of the stage. Would recommend this venue and hope to come back again."

Old Leigh is the waterside village in the Southend area, which as its name suggests is the oldest part of Leigh-on-Sea.
They are walks to be had along the watefront next to the docks and the marshland and plenty of places to grab some seafood.
Out of its 1,008 reviews 622 have been rated 'Excellent' to give it an overall score of 4.5.
One reviewer wrote: "Tons of places to eat in Leigh-on-Sea and plenty of places to buy fresh fish, cockles, etc. Also, a pretty good place for a walk, despite being a real working harbour."
Adventure Island
Adventure Island is rated as the best place to go in Southend, with its theme park being praised for its selection of high-quality rides and rollercoasters.
Out of its 3,987 reviews 2,472 have been rated 'Excellent' to give it an overall score of 4.5.
One reviewer wrote: "My daughter has a season pass for here and they're very good with the kids. Plenty of rides for all ages, food not too badly priced even better with a discount for the annual pass. We love coming down in the evening in the summer."
