A man has died following a crash with a motorbike and a car.

Police were called shortly after 6.40pm yesterday, to the crash in Sutton Road, Southend.

Ambulance colleagues attended, but the biker, a man in his 40s, died at the scene.

The road was closed whilst officers dealt with the scene and a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We need anyone who saw anything or has any dash cam footage to contact our Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

"In particular we are keen to speak to a male and female who witnessed the collision but walked away before the emergency services arrived at the scene.
