A RENEWED push to find the killer of a man who was assaulted and left for dead in a park has been launched by police.

Crimestoppers is offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for killing Terry Leeks.

Over the last few days officers from Essex Police have delivered leaflets with details of this reward to addresses in the Northlands Park area.

Mr Leeks, 46, died after being assaulted in Northlands Park in the early hours of July 11 last year.

Echo:

He was stabbed at around 1.30am, and later died in hospital.

In total, 13 people have been arrested in connection with Terry’s death.

Four of them – two boys aged 15 and 17 and two men aged 19 – released under investigation.

Nine others have been told they face no further action.

Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe, who’s leading the murder investigation, said: “Every day that passes where Terry’s family don’t have justice for his death, it’s another day of pain for them.

“There are people out in the community who knows what happened to Terry and who was responsible.

“Nearly seven months on from his death, it’s more important than ever that those people come forward to us or the independent charity Crimestoppers and report what they know.

“No matter how small or insignificant you believe this information to be, it may be the key to providing answers and justice for Terry’s family.”

In a statement, Terry's parents said: "We’re devastated by Terry’s death and we desperately need anyone who knows what happened to him to come forwards.

“So if you have any information about what happened, no matter how small you think it is, please, please, please come forward and report it.”
