A man is due in court in connection with a large disturbance in which a victim suffered life-changing injuries.
Lenny Draper, 27, of Sheepen Road, Colchester has been charged with GBH with intent, affray, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.
During the incident in College Way, Southend on Thursday 20 August 2020, two men were seriously injured.

One of those men, a 40-year-old, later sadly died.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We investigated his death and found there to be no third-party involvement and his death forms no part of the current investigation.
"The second man sustained life-changing injuries as a result of the incident.
"Draper is due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on March 24 for a pre-trial preparation hearing."
