South Essex’s most and least expensive streets to buy a home have been revealed.

Research carried out by house sales company Property Solvers has seen the firm draw up a top 10 list for each category.

The results are based on data from the HM Land Registry which tracks average sold price.

The figures date back to 2016 and includes the SS1, SS2, SS3, SS8, SS13, SS14, SS15, SS16, SS22 and SS99 postcodes.

All but one road in the top 10 most expensive is in the Southend borough.

Barling Road came top and saw three properties sold for an average of £1,900,000.

Lodwick came second with an average house sale of £1,235,071, while The Broadway came third with an average of £1,151,000.

The top 10 most expensive roads in south Essex since 2016 are:

  7. Daines Way, Southend - £930,000
  8. Thorpe Hall Avenue, Southend - £912,700
  9. Burges Road, Southend - £904,571
  10. Burges Road, Southend - £886,333

 

The cheapest street in south Essex was found to be Middle Crockerford where there was an average sale price of £82,500.

The 10 least expensive streets in south Essex since 2016 were:

  1. Middle Crockerford, Basildon - £82,500
  2. Ryedene Close, Basildon - £99,900
  3. Warrior House, Southchurch Road, Southend - £104,998
  4. Stadium Road, Southend - £107,356
  5. Sunningdale Court, Gordon Place, Southend - £107,420
  6. Ryedene Place, Basildon - £110,333
  7. York Road, Southend - £110,600
  8. Lanham Place, Basildon - £111,000
  9. Heygate Avenue, Southend - £113,300
  10. Old Southend Road, Southend - £113,666

 

Commenting on the data, Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales.

“It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Thorpe Bay Gardens (SS1) sold for £2,150,000 and, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £65,000 and under on York Road (SS1), York Road (SS1) and Lornes Close (SS2).”
