For World Book Day 2022 the mums and dads did their kids proud with the wonderful array of outfits.
It is the literary-themed day that schoolchildren love, where they can dress up as their favourite book characters.
This year we had hundreds of photos sent in of fabulous outfits, from Rosa Parks to Spider-Man.
The rush to get a perfect costume is not always easy, as Carley Vincent, from Vange, discovered.
She thought she had bought her two sons, Samuel and Arthur, Harry Potter outfits but had a surprise in the morning.
Carley said: “I gave them the outfits and said to them go upstairs to change and come and show us once they were dressed.
"We had a shock when Samuel came down wearing a full wig, dressed as Hermione! I had bought the wrong costume!”
Luckily, Samuel was happy with the outfit and thought it was really funny, and went off happily to Ryedene School in Basildon.
