A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after air ambulance was spotted landing in a park in Thundersley.
The helicopter, in the red and yellow colour scheme of the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, landed on Tarpots Recreation Ground at around 8.25am to attend to a medical emergency.
Resident Dan Lawes, who lives on Lambeth Road, saw the vehicle landing on the green this morning.
The 40-year-old also saw an ambulance nearby but did not report anyone being taken into either vehicle as he was on the school run.
In reponse to the incident, a spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed an air ambulance, plus other vehicles, had been called to the scene.
He said; "Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to an address in Benfleet following reports of a woman with a medical emergency.
"One patient in a serious condition was transported by road to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital."
