HUMAN waste and sewage is covering pavements outside homes after a pipe burst.
The mess is outside flats in Little Lullaway, Basildon near to Pamplins. Furious residents are demanding action and fear it will spread disease.
Residents claim the pipe burst last weekend and has been leaving mess on the street since.
Water and waste can be seen coming up through the pavements in various places.
Tim Hanson, 41, of Little Lullaway, Basildon said: "Everyone is so furious and I don't see why we should have to be putting up with this.
"I am worried about the health of my children and neighbours. There's human waste and toilet tissue all over the pavements.

"It's hard to avoid it and not step in it when you are walking through the area. It's so unacceptable and I have never seen anything like it before."
He said it must be fixed and cleared as soon as possible.
Other residents worry about vermin such as rats and say the smell stops them leaving windows open.
Residents were spotted in street discussing the mess today and say it's been reported to authorities but still nothing is being done to cleared.
The waste and sewage is running down the street from Little Lullaways down to Pamplins and Upper Maybe.
Anglian Water, Essex County Council and Basildon Council have been contacted for comment.
