THREE rail passengers from south Essex have been fined for dodging train fares in London.
The trio were charged and had their cases heard at Barkingside Magistrates Court last week.
They were all caught on trains run by operator Southeastern without having a ticket on their journeys.
The cases were decided by a magistrate using the single justice procedure, which means defendants don't have to appear in court.
The three men were:
Bogdan Neagu, 24, was caught travelling without a ticket at Woolwich Arsenal back on October 14 last year.
The ticket cost £4.10.
Neagu, of Honeypot Lane, Basildon, was ordered to pay £393.10 – including a fine of £220.
Iomut Stanciu, 28, was caught travelling without a ticket at Woolwich Arsenal back on October 14 last year.
The ticket cost £4.10.
Stanciu, of Honeypot Lane, Basildon, was ordered to pay £393.10 – including a fine of £220.
Pascal Le Pahun, 50, was caught travelling without a ticket at Grove Park Station on October 26 last year.
The ticket cost £3.50.
Le Pahun, of Great Knightleys, Basildon, was ordered to pay £392.50 – including a fine of £220.
Le Pahun was also caught committing the same offence at the same station on November 16.
He was ordered to pay a further £392.50 for the offence, taking the total to £785.
