Thanks to our wonderful readers, our #ThereWithUkraine campaign to raise money for the victims of the horrific war in Ukraine has raised more than £10,000 so far.

But now we want to do more to help the brilliant people offering their homes to Ukrainian refugees.

We have set up a Facebook group open to anybody who has signed up for the scheme or considering becoming a sponsor to ensure like-minded families have a place to connect and swap ideas and stories.

You can join our group by clicking here or searching for Homes for Ukraine families - #ThereWithUkraine on Facebook.

The group is open to anybody in the UK so please invite anybody you know who has signed up for the scheme to join us.

What is the Homes for Ukraine scheme?

If you want to offer a home to people fleeing Ukraine, you can become a ‘sponsor’ as part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

Anyone in the UK with a spare room or home can register, as long as:

  • you can offer accommodation for at least 6 months
  • if you’re not a British citizen, you have leave to remain in the UK for at least 6 months

You can find out more about the scheme from the Government website here

#ThereWithUkraine

Last week we donated 5p from newspaper sales across dozens of our daily titles to the Red Cross DEC Ukraine Humanitarian appeal, to help those in need.

We also set up a JustGiving page, which has now passed £10,000 thanks to the generosity of our readers.

Every penny counts - we've had donations from £2 to £1,000 - and any contribution, large or small, will make a big difference.

One selfless person even donated their entire month's state pension adding: "My state pension has just started at the same time as the war in Ukraine so as I've managed without this pension to now, here is my first payment."

There is still more we can do and we're asking for your help even further as the war rages on.

Our JustGiving page is a single appeal across all our news titles and we will continue to highlight the heroic actions of our communities who are doing all they can to help Ukrainians.

Echo: Thankyou to the 102 named and 92 anonymous donors who helped our campaign to its first £10,000!

All the money raised will go to the British Red Cross Society DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The British Red Cross is involved in humanitarian work in Ukraine, helping the civilians who have been affected by the ongoing crisis.

Your donation could help someone affected get food, water, first aid, medicines, warm clothes, and shelter.

All of Newsquest's titles across the UK are united in our efforts to support the people of Ukraine. Please donate what you can via the link to our JustGiving page below.

As we are #ThereWithYou, we hope you will stand with us and be #ThereWithUkraine.
