A man has died following a medical emergency in a town centre.
The incident saw a road closed for several hours from 5pm yesterday (Friday, March 25) to allow paramedics to treat the man.
The Essex Air Ambulance was also seen landing in a nearby car park in connection with the incident.
Essex Police says it was called to the scene in Magdalen Street, Colchester, following concerns for the welfare of a man but a spokesman has since confirmed the man has died.

He added: “We arrived alongside colleagues in the ambulance service who attended to the man.
“Despite their best efforts, the man sadly died.
“The road was closed for a period whilst the incident was being dealt with.
“The man’s next of kin have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
