Essex’s fire service has revealed yesterday’s blaze in Leigh was started after garden furniture caught alight.
Crews were spotted tackling the blaze in Olivia Drive yesterday (March 26) evening after members of the public raised the alarm via 999.
A spokesperson for the fire service told the Echo no-one was injured during the incident.

They added the flames spread to the nearby home but firefighters were able to prevent it from engulfing the entire building.
The spokesperson said: “We were called to Olivia Drive at 6:41pm.
“On arrival, crews confirmed that garden furniture had caught alight and the fire had spread into a bedroom.
“Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire by 7:01pm.
“The cause of the fire was accidental and nobody was harmed.”
