A MOTHER was allegedly carried to her bedroom by an intruder who intended to sexually assault her, a court heard.
Robert Church, 49, of Tylney Avenue, Rochford is standing trial at Basildon Crown Court charged with trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence.
Yesterday, the alleged victim took to the stand to give evidence and told the jury she was asleep when a man entered the home before waking up as she was carried upstairs.
She said: “I woke up at the top of the stairs in someone’s arms and I was being held like a baby.
“I had taken sleeping pills and it takes me a little while to come around properly. I noticed his hand and thought it wasn’t someone that I knew.
“I was thrown on the bed and it jolted me which woke me up properly and someone was trying to pull me trousers down.
“Then I was told to take my underwear off.”
She told the court that she was kicking out and screaming and swearing.
The victim added that she jumped up off the bed and saw a man.
The alleged victim told the jury her attacker had left a pile of cocaine by her bedside and had been in her home earlier in the day to place it in her room.
She added: “It makes me sick as he must have been in the house some time before the incident.
“I freaked out and pushed him out of the way so I could go and get my phone to call the police.
“He was shouting from the top of the stairs and I called the police. I later found he’d be sending me loads of messages on Facebook before and after the incident.”
Prosecuting, John Carmichael, told the court Mr Church entered the home intending to commit a sexual offence and that he was found with a Kinder egg with cocaine and heroin inside.
He said: “He told police he thought they would have an affair but was adamant the woman consented. She did not want sex or drug from him.”
The trial continues.
