NUMEROUS police officers descended on a Southend residential road this morning.
Essex Police has confirmed reports of an armed police operation which was undertaken in the early hours in Southchurch Road.
A witness described seeing dozens of officers flood the road, with armed police leading the operation.
Police are currently searching a property on the road, and will continue to provide updates throughout the day.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We executed a warrant in North Road, in Westcliff, in the early hours of this morning, Monday, April 18, after receiving reports of suspicious behaviour at the address.
"A search is currently being carried out at the property. We expect that work to continue into this evening.
"A 31-year-old man is helping us with our enquiries."
