A DRINK driver who was tracked down by police and found asleep on the floor of his home tested four times over the limit.
Essex Police were called at 1.56pm yesterday by a member of public who reported seeing vehicle bump into a parked car and drive off.
Police officers traced the number plate and attended the home address of the owner.
When nobody answered, police forced open the door to find a man asleep on the floor.
He was arrested after testing four times over the legal drink drink limit.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “Officers attended the home address for the car and when no answer was received at the door, they used their powers of entry where they then found a male asleep on the floor inside.
“By 2.10pm he was arrested and subsequently provided a sample of 156 - more than four times over the legal limit of 35.
“Thank you to the person who called us - you may have saved a life as next time it could have been a child instead of a parked car.
