A new Dunelm has opened at the Mayflower Retail Park in Basildon.
The furniture and homeware chain launched its new store today with an opening ceremony. Keen customers were lined up and eager to try out the new store.
Bosses say the store has created 30 new jobs and the launch has gone very well.
Emma Truss, 44, store manager said it's been busy and went as good as expected and possibly even better.
She said they gave away lots of prices and goodie bags.
It comes after Dunelm had announced plans to open a store at the Royal's Shopping Centre in Southend but plans were halted due to the sale of the centre.
Customers said they are delighted with the new Basildon store and they expect they will be visiting very often.
Tracy Knight, 45, from Basildon said: "It's a really nice store and I think I will be coming back soon. I shop with Dunelm online but have never visited one of the stores before."
There was a balloon arch, an ice cream van and cakes and treats on offer at the new store in Basildon.
