A Behind-the-scenes video has revealed how Eastenders stars were able to brave the chilly sea during filming in Southend.
The city appeared on the BBC’s iconic soap yesterday evening, with the most dramatic scene involving character Jean being rescued from the sea by Stacey.
A short video posted on Twitter has revealed the actors donned wetsuits under their clothing to keep them warm while filming took place on the seafront, and in then water.

Speaking during the video, Lacey Turner (who plays Stacey) said: “We’ve got wetsuits on underneath our costume, which have actually been a godsend because they have actually kept us quite warm.
“It was quite cold today (during filming). Quite choppy and a little bit windy.

“It was freezing but it’s lovely and I think when you’re in the moment you don’t really feel the cold of the water going into your wetsuit.
“But when they say cut and you’re walking out of the sea it is so cold.”
Filming in Southend took place across several days last month, with camera crews spotted at various locations, including near the Three Shells Café and on Shoebury seafront.
Adventure Island staff were called upon to act as extras during filming.
