Photos showing a police cordon in place outside a field have emerged after a man was found dead over the weekend.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the death in Stock Road, Stock.
A cordon has been put up in front of a gated field.
Officers were called to the scene by the ambulance service around 10.47am yesterday after paramedics were called to help a man.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an update at lunchtime today (Monday, May 9), Essex Police said it was specifically looking for people who were in the area on Saturday night to get in touch with any information.
A spokesman said: "Our investigation is in the very early stages and ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
"In particular we need to speak to anyone who was in that area between the evening of Saturday, May 7 and 10.45am the following day."
