A VEHICLE fire has caused a slip road off the A13 to close.
Essex Police were on the scene of a fire which happened around 7pm yesterday evening at the Five Bells interchange.
The slip road still remains closed this morning despite the vehicle now being cleared, as it is reported the road will need to be resurfaced.
It is still unknown whether anyone suffered any injuries.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are currently on scene of a vehicle fire with fire brigade colleagues at the Five Bells interchange, #A13, #Basildon.
“The fire is out and the #A13 is open in both directions, but the off-slip road from the #A13 (Southend bound) is closed.
“It will be closed until further notice, and we would ask drivers to find alternative routes while we complete our enquiries.
“Thank you for your patience.”
