A CYCLIST is fighting for their life after they were involved in a serious crash on the A127 in Southend this afternoon.
The collision between the bike and car happened at Cuckoo Corner around 2pm.
Part of the A127 has been shut as a result and police say the closure will remain in place for a few more hours.

A force spokesman said: "Our officers were called to the A127, close to the junction with Victoria Avenue, shortly after 2pm today, Friday 27 May.
"The collision involved a car and a bicycle.
"The cyclist has been taken to hospital in a life threatening condition.
"The eastbound A127 is closed at the junctions with Priory Crescent and Manners Way and is likely to remain closed for several hours.

"We would advise motorists to avoid the area if possible.
"We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision or anyone who has dash cam footage."
