THRILL-seekers are being challenged to jump from the 'UK’s tallest inflatable' which has been unveiled at a returning outdoor water park.

Aqua Park Lakeside welcomed visitors back for the first time this year at the weekend and is anticipating a busy summer ahead.

The park first opened in 2020 but has never been at full capacity due to Covid restrictions.

With pandemic rules now a distant memory, bosses hope they will finally see visitors flock to the park in their thousands.

After a successful first weekend of the summer season, park founder Connor James said: “The last couple of years have been tough for everyone and as a business we’re so pleased to see so many people back enjoying the inflatables at Lakeside.

“While the weather wasn’t a heatwave, it was great to see the smiles on people’s faces and laughter as everyone enjoyed favourites from previous years.”

The park is set out like an obstacle course which features more than 30 inflatables.

A special inflatable has been brought in to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations and is thought to be the country’s highest, standing at a proud 5.5 metres tall.

Visitors jumping from the attraction, known as the Platinum Plunge, are asked to don Union Jack swimwear when jumping off.

A competition is being held to see who can made the best ‘plunge’ from the inflatable, with the winner receiving a free pass for the rest of the summer.

Season passes are again on offer to regular visitors to the park, with bosses hoping it will prove a cost-effective way for families to have fun this summer.

Mr James added: “With household budgets likely to be limited this year, we’ve once again introduced the Aqua Park Season Pass, which covers entry to our four UK water park locations.

Echo:

“The season passes are for those who want to return or even visit our other water parks at Grafham Water, Cardiff Bay or Rutland Water.

“It means people can book up to twice a week for the whole summer giving families an easy and cost-effective way to keep the kids active throughout the summer.”
