BORIS Johnson will face a no confidence vote after it was triggered by rebel Tory MPs.
If 54 letters from MPs are sent to Sir Graham Brady, asking for a leadership poll then a vote is called.
In a statement by Sir Graham Brady this morning, he confirmed the threshold of 54 letters had been exceeded.
He sai: “The threshold of 15% of the parliamentary party seeking a vote of confidence in the leader of the Conservative Party has been exceeded.
“In accordance with the rules, a ballot will be held between 6pm and 8pm today, Monday June 6, details to be confirmed.
“The votes will be counted immediately afterwards.
“An announcement will be made at a time to be advised.
“Arrangements for the announcement will be released later today.”
The Prime Minister will need to win the backing of 50 per cent of MPs to remain Tory leader, 181 votes.
If he wins, he will remain as party leader and Prime Minister as well as being immune from another challenge for a year.
However if Boris Johnson loses, there will be a new party leader and prime minister.
