Closing - Barclays branch in Leigh
A MAJOR bank branch is set to close in Leigh as banking giants abandon the high street.
Barclays Bank branch in 10 Broadway, Leigh, will close on September 9, a letter sent out to residents has revealed.
Last month the firm announced it would be closing a further 27 banks – including the branch in Billericay – this year, bringing the total number of banks shutting to 40.
In March, the bank had announced that it would be closing 13 branches across the country. The first is set to close in June and the final in August.
And now it has been revealed the firm will also be closing its Leigh Branch, with the nearest alterative branches in Southend or Rayleigh.
