A man has appeared in court charged with a number of breaches of court orders.
Kevin Fowers, 54, of High Street, Shoebury was arrested yesterday.
It comes after several police cars and a number of officers have been spotted in the high street dealing with an incident on Monday.
Residents say there are about six or seven police vehicles in the high street which include a white lorry and van as well as a black van, and cop cars in side turnings.
There was still a heavy police presence in the street yesteday.
He has been charged with four counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order and two counts of failing to comply the notification requirements of the sexual offenders’ register.
He appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on 21 June.
He is next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 19 July.
