A sink hole has appeared in a busy Southend residential street, leading to the road being shut off.
The hole is in the north end of Old Southend Road in the city and signs have been put in place shutting the road and diverting drivers.
Matt Dent, Labour councillor for Kursaal took to social media to post about the issue with the road.
He said the council is looking in to it and working on the issue.

He said: "The north end of Old Southend Road is currently closed off, due to a sinkhole having opened up in the road surface. The Highways Department at Southend City Council are currently looking into the causes of and solutions to resolving the issue, which being a sinkhole is more complex than your standard pothole.
"I will endeavour to keep residents updated as the matter develops. As ever, if #KursaalWard residents have any questions they can feel free to contact me at cllrdent@southend.gov.uk."
