TWO friends have become overnight sensations thanks to a viral Tik Tok video which has seen them land a Netflix deal to promote one of the streaming service’s flagship shows.
Brooke Blewitt and Jess Qaulter were your ordinary 21-year-old housemates just 12 weeks ago, blowing off steam dancing around their flat.
Brooke, who grew up in Billericay, says the pair decided to record a video of themselves dancing to a viral song of a backing track added to a Louis Theroux rap, created while filming his series Weird Weekends in 2000.

Donning hoodies and dark shades, a look which has now become synonymous with the pair, Brooke and Jess whipped up the routine in 10 minutes before posting it online to Tik Tok.
“We didn’t plan on people seeing it if I’m honest,” Brooke, a former Buttsbury School pupil, explained.
“We were just messing around in our lounge.
"I was making pasta at the time and Jess played the Jiggle Jiggle song and it was so catchy that we were bopping around to it.
“We didn’t plan on dressing up or anything, so we put the glasses with the hoodies on, because we didn’t want to make an effort, and that seems to be our brand now."
The video has amassed around 60 million views in under two weeks and seen around 600,000 people follow their social media pages.
The dance has catapulted the pair to global success and was even performed on the Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon and Shakira.
The otherworldly popularity of the video, which has spurred on people worldwide to recreate the routine, has landed the pair a series of gigs.
Its success saw the duo employed by Netflix to create a promotional dance video for season four of the sci-fi smash hit series, Stranger Things.
“I could never have imagined 12 weeks ago that all this would have happened,” Brooke said.
“Honestly, when Jimmy Fallon read out our names on his show our jaws dropped.”
Brooke and Jess are currently working with NBC on Tik Tok dance challenge, judged by Shakira, called ‘dancing with myself at home’.
