Officers are appealing for witnesses and information after an attack outside a nightclub in Basildon left a man with a broken jaw.

During a disturbance involving a group of people, the victim, a man in his 20s, was punched to the face and sustained a broken jaw.

The incident took place at about 3am outside Unit 7 in Festival Leisure Park on Saturday, April 16.

Police are now calling for witnesses and information.

The suspect is described as a white man who is well built with short dark hair.

He is believed to have been wearing a dark coloured coat with the hood down.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Basildon that took place at around 3am on Saturday, April 16 outside Unit 7, Festival Leisure Park.

"During a disturbance involving a group of people, the victim, a man, 20’s, was punched to the face and sustained a broken jaw.

"We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV or dash cam footage to contact us."
