Youngsters across the county got to enjoy their proms this week, and dressed in style for the occasion!

We asked readers to send in their photos of young family members who had their proms and we were inundated with wonderful images of fun and laughter – and glamorous outfits to boot!

Proud parents took the all-important pre party photo and waved goodbye to their family members as they marked an end of an era and the start of a new journey in their lives.

Some arrived in a stretched limo, others on tiny little bikes, and all of them looked a million dollars in their special eveningwear.
Suited and booted, hair done, nails manicured and prom dresses swishing, the big event is a chance for youngsters to primp and preen for the special occasion.

Over at Park Inn by Radisson Palace Hotel there was the Queer Prom which invited all to celebrate their individuality and identity exactly as they are.
