A sailing vessel is stranded after it ran aground entering the MOD Shoebury range sea area.
Overnight, the vessel entered the area, ran aground and is now stranded in a prohibited danger area while the range operates.
A spokesman for MOD Shoebury said: "We will ensure the vessel's safety but please be aware of restrictions when in the vicinity of the range."
The Maplin and Foulness Sands area surrounding MOD Shoebury is popular for recreational sailing, watersports and fishing.

However, those intending to sail, board or paddle nearby should be aware that the area outlined on the map below is a range sea danger area.

The range operates Monday to Friday, and occasionally on weekends, all year round and is shown as being active by the flying of red flags.
Restrictions also still apply even when the flags are lowered and the range is not active.
