South Essex magistrates have seen a number of cases of drink drivers.

Here's our round up of the Basildon motorists who were sentenced for drink driving.

Elizabeth Lee, 25, of Pound Lane, Bowers Gifford was in court for drinking driving.

On January 23 in Southend she drove a car on a road, namely Victoria Avenue, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in her breath, namely 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

A community order made. The defendant must comply with the following requirements, unpaid work for 80 hours within the next twelve months, she must pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and pay costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

She was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 25 months. This is to be reduced by 25 weeks if by July 28 2023 the defendant satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State. The cost of the course will not exceed £250.

Wayne Elliott, 56, of Stokefelde, Pitsea, was in court for drink driving.

On May 28 in Pitsea he drove a car on a road, namely Ashlyns, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your breath, namely 49 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He was fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, pay costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 14 months. This is to be reduced by 14 weeks if by March 21 2023 the defendant satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State. The cost of the course will not exceed £250.

Jack Dollard, 26, of Charleston Avenue, Basildon was sentenced for driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit.

On March 25 in Westcliff he drove a car on a road, namely Fleetwood Avenue, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 94 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

A community order was made and he was ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid work, pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and pay costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 24 months. This is to be reduced by 24 weeks if by September 3 2023 the defendant satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State. The cost of the course will not exceed £250.

Adeyemi Adediran, 45, of Helpeston, Basildon was in court for being over the drink drive limit.

On January 21 in Waltham Abbey he drove a car on the M25 after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 72 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He was fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and pay costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The court also disqualified him from owning or getting a driving licence for 40 months and this is set to be reduced by 40 weeks if by he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State by July 14 2024.

Victoria Goggin, 27, of Denver Drive, Basildon was sentenced in court for driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit.

On January 14 in Chelmsford she drove a motor vehicle, namely white Mercedes, on a road, namely Parkway, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in her breath, namely 80 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

She was ordered to complete 40 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and pay costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The magistrates court also banned him from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 20 months. The disqualification is due to be reduced by 20 weeks if by March 21 2023 the defendant satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State. The cost of the course will not exceed £250.

Max Laurence-Gutteridge, 31, of Grimston Road, Basildon, was sentenced in the magistrates court drink driving.

On April 15 2022 in Southend he drove a car after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 102 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

The magistrates court ordered him to carry out unpaid work for 120 hours, pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95, pay costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He was also banned from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 25 months, this disqualification is to be reduced by 25 weeks if by October 24 2023 the defendant satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State. The cost of the course will not exceed £250.
