A SOUTH Essex school is allowing parents to keep their child at home for the day during the heatwave.
Hadleigh Junior School, in Church Road, has informed parents of plans for the extreme weather conditions today and tomorrow.
Headteacher, Mr Glenn Moore, has allowed children to either stay home, come in for reduced hours, or attend the full day.

In a statement on social media, he said: “Parents / carers may choose to keep their child / children at home; however, no remote learning will be provided.
“Additionally, parents / carers wishing for their child / children to attend on reduced hours may pick them up from 12:10pm.
“Absences for these reasons will be marked as authorised.”
They have also given out key actions for children attending the school, with urges for a hat, sun cream, and water.
Children will also be able to wear non-uniform, and there will be additional breaks during the day to keep the pupils as cool as possible.
